Where is Guayabero Rapids located?

The Guayabero Rapids is situated in the municipality of San José del Guaviare, in the department of Guaviare, Colombia. It is approximately 276 kilometers from Villavicencio and 630 kilometers from Bogotá.

How to Get to Guayabero Rapids

There are several ways to reach Cerro Azul. The most common options include bus, plane, or private car. The nearest major city is Bogotá, so we will start the route from here. Here’s how to get there from this city:

  • By Bus: You can travel by bus from Bogotá to San José, take a bus from La Macarena, the journey takes about 8 hours, and costs $130,000 COP. I recommend traveling at night to arrive in the morning in San José.

  • By Plane: There are 2 companies that fly to San José del Guaviare: Clic and Satena. The flight lasts approximately 90 minutes and costs $400,000 COP and $700,000 COP. This may vary depending on the season.

  • In San José: Once in San José, rent a motorcycle for the whole day for $110,000 COP at the main square and follow the Google Maps route (I left the location on the map above), you can also rent a taxi for the whole day for $350,000 COP.

  • 2 people: $300,000 COP
